Billy Ed Wilson, 91, of Belton, died Monday, July 8, 2013, in a Temple Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Joe Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
Billy Ed was born in Davilla, Texas, to the late John Henry Wilson and Sidney Aileen (Digby) Wilson. Early in his working life he was a mechanic at Ft. hood. He soon owned and operated his own auto repair garage. In the early 1960's, Billy went into the contracting business and operated B. E. Wilson Construction until he retired. During this time, he also worked for the City of Belton for 10 years. Billy enjoyed working and worked until finally retiring at age 88 because of health issues. He enjoyed hunting for many years and more recently enjoyed visiting and joking with his friends and family, who were very special to him. He was a Baptist and attended Miller Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Wilson, in 2010.
Survivors include son, Eddie D. Wilson, of Woodway; daughters, Pat McEver, of Temple, Tammy Wilson Ricketts, of Alvarado, and Ricci Wilson Douglas, of Belton; sister, Johnnie Ruth Bartz, of Belton; step-sons, Byron Maudlin, of Belton, and Bob Maudlin, of Crosby; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
