Edward J. "Big Ed" Wilson, age 79, of Griffith, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2009.
Loving husband of 55 years to Janet; loving father of Cherilynn (Kevin) Klebs of St. John, Carole Anne (Steven) Steele of Highland and Dianne (Jim) Carmody of Aurora, IL; grandfather of Christopher and Craig (Katie) Mihalich, step-grandson, Ben Klebs, Michael (Tabitha), and Patrick Steele, Zachary Vinciguerra and Matthew Carmody; sisters: Betty (Ed) Dulla of Highland and Shirley McCormick of Hebron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth; and by his brother, Frank. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 DIRECTLY at 10:30 a.m. at the St. James Catholic Church in Highland, IN with Fr. Keith Virus celebrating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith, IN. Edward was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was retired from Blaw Knox and Euclid Machine & Tool Co. Edward was an Army Veteran (Korean War) and he was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of American Legion Post 66, and he was an avid Hunter and Fisherman.
