Moulton Weekly Tribune THURSDAY, MAY 26, 1949 Mrs. Alice Wilson Dies At Age Of 94 --Services Pending Mrs. Alice Wilson, 94, wife of the late Robert Wilson who for many years was publisher of The Moulton Tribune passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dick Eby, yesterday afternoon about 3:00 p. m. In spite of her advanced years she had been in fair health until Wednesday, May 11th, when she fell and fractured a hip. It is also thought she might have suffered a light stroke. For many years Mrs. Wilson occupied a prominent place in church and social life in Moulton. A member of the Presbyterian church she was a diligent worker in that faith, and until her hearing and eyesight failed, was a constant attendant at all of her church gatherings. She was a long time member of the P. E. O. Sisterhood, and for many years was active in the Moulton Rebekah lodge. Mrs. Wilson was born in Johnston, Penna., December 10, 1854, and was the daughter of George W. and Mary Treftz Singley. She came with her parents to Iowa when she was two years old and settled with them on what became known as the Singley homestead, north of Moulton. She was married to Robert R. Wilson January 25, 1883. They lived in Avalon and Tina, Mo., before coming to Moulton in 1900. Mr. Wilson published the Tribune here until his death in 1923. To this union was born two children, Karl F. Wilson, of Chicago, ILL., and Mrs. Dick Eby, of Moulton. Other surviving relatives are a sister, Miss Francis Singley, of Moulton, besides two granddaughters and other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the son from Chicago.
