Isabelle Wilson Arnold died Sunday September 3, 2000 in Salt Lake City UT at the age of 90. Born in Galesburg IL October 8, 1909 to Robert Arthur Wilson and Nellie Clark Wilson. She was educated in Galesburg, graduating from Knox College in 1931. She married Raymond Louis Arnold in Chicago IL January 2, 1933. They returned to Mr. Arnold's home in Salt Lake City where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Arnold served for many years on the Women's Board of Westminister College. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, a former member of Chapter K of PEO, the First Presbyterian Church, the Town Club, and the Salt Lake Country Club. Survived by her children: Susan A (George) Mitchell, Golden CO; R. Clark (Kay) Arnold, Salt Lake Cty; John R. Arnold, San Rafael CA; grandchildren, Mark D. Mitchell, LaJunta CO; Katherine A. Mitchell, Denver CO; Michael R. Hughes, Moab UT; Robin (Mark) Freed, Park City UT; Jennifer M. Berger, Salt Lake City; and a great-grandson, Dylan Freed, Salt Lake City; preceded in death by her parents and husband. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday Sep 7, at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 E. 100 S. Salt Lake City. Friends may greet the family prior to the services beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be private at Mt Olivet Cemetery. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to Carol Hanson, Dolly Christiansen, and Caroline Praszynski who compassionately acted as Mrs. Arnold's companions and caregivers for the last six years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Arnold's name to The Isabelle W. Arnold Scholarship, Westminister College, Salt Lake City, the First Presbyterian Church or the charity of choice.
