Verna Rae Maunu was born on Feb. 3, 1933, in Gary, Ind., to Harrison and Hughetta Wilson. She died in Woodland, Wash., on Nov. 8, 2011. She married Dean Maunu on March 24, 1951. They lived in Portland before moving to the family farm in Woodland in about 1986. Together they raised three boys, Dick, Darryl and Leonard. She is preceded in death by her son, Leonard.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; Dick and his wife, Neila; Darryl and his wife, Mary; daughter-in-law, Karen; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at 1 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7810 S.E. 15th Avenue, Portland. Interment is at Skyline Memorial Gardens.
