George "Jack" Wilson, 72, son of William "Dutch" and Faye Wilson, was born April 2, 1932, at Pittsburg, Kan. He died Jan. 23, 2005, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center in Springfield.
He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1951-'53. After the service, he was a union lineman for AmerenUE in St. Louis. He retired in 1992 after 33 years. He was a shop steward for IBEW Local 1439.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Dorothy Brunelli March 2001; and his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Connolly Wilson of the home at Licking, whom he married Feb. 16, 2002; his children, Deborah Goforth, Terrie Williams and Jay Wilson; stepson, Walter Connolly; stepdaughter, Judith Wardel; brother, Walter Wilson of Kansas/Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 o'clock Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Houston with President Andy Hutchison officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
Visitation is 6 to 8 o'clock Friday evening at the Evans chapel.
