Bernice was born on June 20, 1922, in Markesan, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Michels) Wilsnack. She graduated from Markesan High School and on October 15, 1949, married Arnold Prochnow. Bernice was a life-long member of United Methodist Church in Markesan where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She also held a position in the church office, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Faith Circle. Bernice worked in the office for Markesan Canning Company, Prime Insurance Company and Markesan Medical Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan (Ken) Gitzel of Ripon, WI; God child, Sally Page Olson; five nephews; two cousins, Arlean Braun and Lucille Janz and many friends. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Markesan Cemetery in Markesan
