Ola V. Westbrook, of Oklahoma City, passed away March 22, 2006, one day after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born March 21, 1906, to Ben and Leota Willoughby, in Shawnee, OK. She was married to Gene B. Westbrook, on August 16th, 1927, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Betty and husband, Rev. Russell G. Richardson of Oklahoma City; and a son, Rev. Charley E. Westbrook and wife, Darlene of Collinsville, IL. Other survivors include a sister, Edna Schaapveld of Oklahoma City; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Before retirement, she and her husband were owners of the Britton Plumbing Company for years. Mrs. Westbrook was also a Licensed Practical Nurse and served as President of the Oklahoma LPN Association. Her greatest passion was teaching the Bible in Sunday School. She started this volunteer career at the age of 18 and retired after 79 years at the age of 97. She was truly a gifted teacher and taught, reached and touched literally hundreds of lives which were drastically changed by her loving spirit and excellent Bible teaching. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in the lives of her family as well as all those Sunday School pupils she lovingly called her 'kids'. She will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by all. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006, at 10:00 A.M., at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
