Dorothy E. Montgomery, 92, passed away November 20, 2001 at her home in Minooka.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her sister, Marion Laier; and a much-loved daughter-in-law, Millie.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Jan) Lippert of Frankfurt, Germany, Ruth (Duane) Vickery of Aurora, Suzanne (Thomas) Samios of Plainfield; and her son, Harry Montgomery of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, her sister, Mary Jane (Dan) Genger of Arizona, her brother, David Willoughby of Iowa, and her brother-in-law, William Laier of Woodstock.
Dorothy worked as a legal secretary for Judge Blatt and Attny. George Blatt, Joliet. She worked in real estate with Samios Realty. She was a Kendall County Board Member 1974-1982 and also served as a director on the Mental Health Board of Fox Valley. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Republican Women Club. She was very active in the Minooka Methodist Church, Minooka Schools and the 4-H Club while her daughters were growing up.
Her family invites you to join them in a celebration of her life and memorial visitation on Sunday, November 25 from 2-4:30p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 309 Joliet Rd. (corner of Rt. 59 and Rt. 30), Plainfield. According to her wishes, the family will have a private memorial and scattering of ashes at a later date. Please omit flowers, memorials to either the Kendall County Food Pantry or to the Mutual Ground of Aurora. For info call (815) 436-9221.
