Graveside services for Betty Jean (Pelt) Willis, age 65, of Grapeland, Texas will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Parker Cemetery with Tom Pelt officiating. Mrs. Willis died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at her home. Born Aug. 22, 1941, to Floyd Pelt Sr. and Retha Unive Pelt, she grew up in Waco and was a certified activities director and certified food service director. She worked in long-term care facilities in Wise and Tarrant counties for more than 25 years. She married Donald Willis on April 4, 1958. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virgian Ann Farmer, and a brother, Floyd Pelt Jr. She is survived by her husband, Donald Willis; sons, David Willis and wife, Jeannie, of Crockett, Paul Willis of Grapeland and John Willis and wife, Jennifer, of North Dakota; daughter, Melinda McLen Dickson and husband, Donnie, of Grapeland; brothers, Billy Ray Pelt and wife, JoAllen, of River Oaks, and Doug Pelt and wife, Sherry, of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Lane Hestilow of Grapeland, Angelica and Kristanna Willis of North Dakota, Chris and Benji Boyd of Lake Dallas, Clinton Fisher of Fort Worth, Teresa Wright and husband, Gary, of Grapeland; and two great-grandchildren, Retha May Hestilow of Keller and Jonathan Hestilow of Fort Worth.
