|George E Williams|
|Death: ||Dec. 3, 1926|
New Hampshire, USA
George E. Williams passed away in the Stowell Memorial hospital in Claremont, N. H. on Friday, Dec. 3, after a short illness. The funeral was held in the Episcopal church in Windsor on the following Monday with burial beside his wife and two sons in Ascutney cemetery.
George E. Williams was born in Bethel, Vt., 72 years ago, the youngest son of Philena and John Williams. In 1870 he came to Windsor and was employed as an apothecary's clerk for the late Dr. J. N. Stiles whose place of business was the store now occupied by Druggist Harry B. Harris. After learning his trade he, in company with his brother, the late Dr. Henry Williams, for so many years a practising dentist in Windsor, bought the store and continued there for several years.
In 1876 he married Miss Alice Platt of Randolph, Mass., who passed away many years ago as did also two sons, one in infancy and one Carroll who died in Boston in 1916. For many years he has been in failing health and has been employed in various capacities, recently in the National Acme shop. He was of genial, kindly disposition and well liked by his associates. He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Miss Mabel Williams and Mrs. Perley Dudley, both of this town, and one son, Harold Williams of Waltham, Mass. Two brothers and one sister passed away several years ago.
