Ida Williams "Dolle" Bowman, 67, of Taneytown, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.
Born Feb. 24, 1945, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Emerson Williams and Anna Margaret Johnson Williams. She was the wife of Robert K. Bowman, her husband of eight years.
Before retiring she worked for the State of Maryland. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Westminster.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Joe Carico, of Westminster; sisters Claire Evans, of Baltimore, Sharon Keyes and husband Dave, of Manchester, and Laurie Laun, of Eldersburg; grandchildren Joe III, Jake, Samantha, and Jonathan Carico; five step-children; 16 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three nephews; a great-nephew; and friends Judy and Frank Lanahan, of Finksburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 595 Johann Drive, Westminster.
