Sadie S. Godfrey, 72, died Aug. 6, 2007 at her home. She was born in Belize and moved to Port St. Lucie 17 years ago, coming from Brooklyn, NY.

She was a cashier with Winn-Dixie.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Godfrey of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Merlene Godfrey, Carol Godfrey and Denise Mathurin all of Brooklyn, NY, Dorna Tucker of New Jersey and Barbara Godfrey of Port St. Lucie; son, Harry (Butch) Godfrey Jr. of Port St. Lucie; sisters, Dorothy Bell of Los Angles, Martha Meighan of Brooklyn, NY, Esther Clarke of California and Rita Atkinson of Orlando; brother, Noel Williams of Seattle, WA; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Collin Williams.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 9 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
