Sara Coleman Williams passed away on November 29, 2013 in Jonesboro, Georgia, following a brief illness.

A long-time resident of Jonesboro, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Herbert G. Williams.

Sara was born in Anniston, Alabama, in 1926, the daughter of James T. and Aria Coleman.

She and her husband were founding members of Faith United Methodist Church and Jodeco Road United Methodist Church, and more recently Sara attended First Christian Church of Jonesboro.

The Williams enjoyed traveling around the world throughout their long marriage. Sara was a loving wife, a great cook, and a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She had a warm spot in her heart for animals, especially black cats.

Sara is survived by her nieces, Gail Hubbard, Jane Parrotte, Elsie Pritchard, Anne Tomlinson, Kay Dunn, Diana Gresty, and Wendy Wilkerson; and nephew Jim Coleman. She leaves behind many dear friends and loving caregivers.

A graveside service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, December 2, at Sherwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Georgia, with visitation from 4p.m. to 7p.m., Sunday, December 1 at Tara Garden Chapel in Jonesboro, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the church or charity of your choice.
