Bel M. Ivey
1934 - 2009
Family and Friends are Invited to a Memorial Gathering Celebrating the Life of Bel from 12:00 noon till 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 16, 2010; at the Veterans Memorial, 1626 Willamette St., Eugene, Oregon.
Bel passed away on November 23, 2009 after a long battle against Cancer, just 5 days short of her 75th Birthday. She left behind a loving family who adored her.
She was born in Page, Nebraska, and as a young girl moved with her parents and younger brother to Salem, Oregon. She went to school there, and after High School left the nest to test her wings.
She made her way in the world and soon excelled in selling Advertising Ads. As her husband often remarked, "She could write a Fantastic Ad". (Common Interest Ads do work!)
She and her Husband, Chuck, met in Los Angeles and were married on July 29, 1972. This joined two families into one.
Soon after the wedding they moved to Oregon, settling in Junction City. Bel lived 37 years in Lane County, moving first to Crow, then to Eugene. During this time she touched the lives of many people who will remember her with great affection.
Bel is survived by her Husband, Chuck; 5 Daughters: Tyna Ivey, Nila Ellison, Sue Chambers, Michelle Coleman, and Rita Seligson; 3 Sons: Frank, Joe and Bob; 2 Granddaughters: Tara and Nina; 6 Grandsons: Tyler, Jesse, Kirk, Alex, Marc, and Spencer; a Brother, Robert Williams and a host of Nieces and Nephews; and a multitude of Friends who knew her and loved her.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lane County Animal Control or Greenhill.
