Vailery Agnes Williams, daughter of E. M. and Elizabeth Bush was born February 22, 1864 and departed this life June 21, 1933, age 60 years, 3 months and 20 days.

She has three brothers and ten sisters who have preceded her in death except John Bush of Dixon Springs. She also has a step-mother, Fronia Bush, a half- brother, Clenna Bush of Creal Springs, Illinois, five grandchildren, Lucille and Edward Williams, who have preceded her in death, Helen and Wilma Williams and Loreda Morris, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was married to Amos Williams January 21, 1886 and to this union three children were born, Cora Elizabeth, who preceded her in death, July 15, 1888, Emma Lee Morris of Simpson and Willie E. Williams near Grantsburg.

She professed faith in Christ and joined the Presbyterian Church, December 27, 1885, to which she has been a loyal member until death. Aunt Elie, as she was commonly known, had a glad and a welcome hand for everyone. To know her was to love her. --------- Often she sang the good old religious hymns that she loved and expressed her preparedness for "that vast Forever."

On August 3, 1904, her companion was called away, and she was left to battle life alone and with the help of her two small children, she kept the home together until they were married. Since that time, she made her home with her son, Willie. Her health has been failing for some time, and a week ago she took a turn for the worse and yet with all the service that was rendered, the death angel called her away.

Funeral services were conducted at County Line church by Rev. Jesse T. Davidson, June 23rd, in the presence of a great concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. It had been requested for many years by Sister Williams for Rev. Davidson to preach her funeral. The body was conveyed by Lucas Parker of Vienna, to the Kerley Cemetery to await the resurrection morn. [Faye Morris Bowman]
