It has been said that Paul and Jewell Williams were riding on a train and saw the name Veneca written on the side of a train and that is where she got her name from.
Fisher- Williams Ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Paul S. Williams of Little Rock announce the marriage of their daughter, Veneca, to Sgt Coy L. Fisher, united States Army Air Corps. son of Mrs Clifton Tucker of Hope. The double ring ceremony was solemnized Monday evening, May 4, at the Trinity Methodist Church, Augusta, Georgia with the Rev.W. M. Barrett officiating.
The Bride wore a dressmaker suit of blue linen with navy and white assessories. Her corage was of orchids. Corp. Edward Appler of Hot Springs served the bridegroom as best man.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of Major and Mrs. John R. Fordyce of Augusta, formerly of Little Rock. Mrs. A.T. McMillian of Little Rock assisted in serving. Mrs. Fisher attended Henderson State College, Arkadelphia and she received her degree in medical technology from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. She is employed as a laboratory technician at the Baptist State Hospital. Sergeant Fisher is a graduate of Gurdon High School and he attended school in Denver, Col. Venica is buried next to her parents, Jewel Gaines and Paul Scott Williams at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery, outside Little Rock, Arkansas.
