COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 09/02/2011

BROWN, Joan Williams, 71, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Norton Suburban Hospital. Born on June 24, 1940 in Louisville.

She was a graduate of Presentation Academy, and attended Nazareth College. She was a teacher at St. Mathias Catholic School, a secretary at General Electric and retired from Chest Medicine Associates. Joan was also a member of Church of the Ascension.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivo and Willie Browning Williams.

Joan is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ray Brown; her sons, Bill Brown, Jr., Pat Brown (Leslie) and Tony Brown (Cami Jo); sister, Ann Nauert; and grandchildren, Hannah, Nicholas, Sydney, Simeon, and Hadassah.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 7 at Church of Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, from 2-8 p.m.,
