David R. Williams, son of James and Nancy Williams, was born in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, March 22, 1858. He was united in marriage to Mary Havard in 1884 to which union was born eleven children. Mrs. Williams and four children, three sons and a daughter, having preceded Mr. Williams in death.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams came to America in June, 1887, and located at Farmersville Station, where they resided for more than thirty years, when they moved to Bliss, N.Y. Upon the death of Mrs. Williams, which occurred in December, 1921, Mr. Williams made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Anna Frank of Bliss, where he was tenderly cared for until the time of his death, October 2, 1931, being 73 years of age.
He was a consistent and devoted member of the Freedom Baptist Church an honored citizen, a good neighbor and a kindly friend.
He leaves to mourn their loss one brother, Arnold, and one sister, Mrs. Maria Phillips, both of Pembrokeshire, South Wales; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hurlburt and Mrs. Anna Frank of Bliss, Mrs. Olwen DeWitt of Farmersville Station, and Mrs. Rosina Cole of Franklinville; three sons, Arnold of Rochester, Gwillym and Gordon of Detroit, Mich., seventeen grandchildren, together with a large circle of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in the home in Bliss and in the Freedom Baptist church, Monday, October 5, Rev. J.W. Norris of Great Valley officiating, assisted by Rev. Gomer Mills of Sandusky.
Burial in the family plot in Freedom cemetery.
