Cecil C. Wilkins, 93, of Louisville, IL died at 7:37 AM Sunday, September 12, 2010 at his home in Louisville, IL.


He was born December 18, 1916 in Clay County, Illinois to Elmer E. & Delia (Robinson) Wilkins. He married Dorothy Rosenberg on March 6, 1935 in Louisville. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2003.


He was an area farmer, was also retired from Fedder's in Effingham, and owned and operated a grocery store in Sailor Springs and the "Cozy Cage" in Noble. He attended Clay City Christian Church and belonged to the Sailor Springs Christian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Cecil was a member of Clay County Farm Bureau and was the Pixley Township Clerk for 13 years.


Survivors are 1 son: Howard Wilkins of Louisville; 3 daughters: Carol Jean O'Dell & husband Jimmy L. of Louisville, Doris Pflaum & husband Bill of Clay City, Ruby Parker & husband Kenneth of Bellville; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 great-grandson, and 1 sister, Vivian R. Sullens.


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday (September 16, 2010) at Clay City Christian Church with Darrel Brandon officiating.


Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice or Clay City Christian Church.
