Esther Wilkerson Esther R. Wilkerson, 86, of Burlington, died at Burlington Medical Center.

Born in Webster, Ill., she was the daughter of Frank and Ollie Barrett Hasten. On Nov. 20, 1982, she married Paul M. Wilkerson.

She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church of Burlington, Sunshine Circle of the church, and American Association of Retired Persons. She enjoyed fishing, knitting and crocheting. She loved her dogs and all animals.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Doris Dixon of Lantana, Fla.; one son, Richard Newhard of Lantana; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Brandstetter of Burlington and Betty Smith of Carthage, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

The funeral ws held at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Benjamin officiating.
