Mrs. W.B. Carr, 89, of Beloit, died this morning in the Friendship nursing home.
Sophie May Wilford was born July 9, 1867, in Lincolnshire, England, and came to the United States as a small child. She was married to Mr. Carr, Nov. 14, 1989, in Manchester township, and had lived in Beloit since that time.
Mrs. Carr was a member of Evening Star 77, and White Shrine, and a life member of Pythian Sisters.
Survivors are a son, E.I. Carr of Beloit; a daughter, Mrs. F.C. Ellsworth, Long Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Jordan and Mrs. Marshall Gleasman of Rockton; a brother, Frank Wilford of Le Mans, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son Lester.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer chapel with the Rev. Stanley Crossland officiating. Burial will be in Rockton cemetery. Friends may call Friday at the mortuary.
