COLLINS - Mrs. Carolyn Wildes Smith Boyett, 75, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native was the daughter of Charles E. and Editha Boyette Wildes. She was a 1954 Collins High School graduate and received an LPN nursing degree from Swainsboro Tech in 1963. Carolyn retired in 1997 from the Evans Memorial Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Belleville Lions Club. After a new marriage, she moved to Collins three years ago where she became a member of the Collins Baptist Church serving as clerk and singing in the choir. During these past three years, she and Jack have enjoyed traveling the country. Family was the most important part of her life. Working with her flowers was her enjoyment. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjie Smith; her parents and a brother, Martin Wildes. She is survived by her husband, Jack Boyett of Collins; two daughters, Judy (Billy) Scott of Richmond Hill, Debra (David) Dinkins of Reidsville; step-children, Anthony (Donna) Boyett of Reidsville, Phyllis B. Johnson of Athens, Greg (Rhonda) Boyett of Collins and Alfred (Stacy) Boyett of Rincon; three brothers, Farrell (Jan) Wildes of Ringgold, Jay (Julia) Wildes of Hillview and Vann (Marilyn) Wildes of Hoschton; five sisters, Norma Wildes (Jack Rice), Mary (Jimmy) Sapp both of Statesboro, Martha (Carl) Lacy of Gatesville, TX, Faye Kennedy (Alton) Smith, and Kaye Wildes (Durell Lynn) both of Metter; five grandchildren, Davy and Kayse Dinkins, Sarah, Rachel and Rebecca Scott; eight step-grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:30 PM, at the Collins Baptist Church with burial in the Brewton Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 5:30-8:30 PM at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.
