Thelma Lucille (Wilder) Keppel

Thelma Lucille (Wilder) Keppel, 87, Waldron, died Sunday at Major Hospital.

Born on Sept. 14, 1910, in Homer, she was the daughter of Clyde and Leone (Van Winkle) Wilder.

On May 2, 1936, she married Lester H. Keppel, and he died on March 31, 1993.

Mrs. Keppel lived in Shelby and Rush counties all of her life.

She was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and was Sunday school teacher for 24 years.

She was also a member of the Cynthianna Homemakers Club.

Survivors include two sons, Philip W. Keppel, New Palestine, and James A. Keppel, Waldron; a brother, Nolan "Junior" Henderson, Blue Ridge; a sister, Jane Thornburg, Shelbyville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church, with the Rev. James Farnsley officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Shelby County.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home.
