Rosary service for Ruth Wild, 83, of Lubbock will be 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 in Englunds Chapel with Resurrection Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in Lubbock's Christ the King Cathedral. Interment will follow in Slaton's Englewood Cemetery and under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.
Ruth passed from this life Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008. She was born July 29, 1925 in D'Hanis, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1943. She worked at Goodfellows Air Base in San Angelo before being transferred to the Pentagon and War Department in Washington DC during WWII.
After the war she returned to Slaton in 1946 then moving to Lubbock in 1949 she worked for Texas Tech and Reese Air Force Base retiring in September 1986.
Ruth married Homer Wild in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2005.
She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral where she did volunteer work for the church and Lubbock's Meals on Wheels.
Her survivors include her sons; Lynn and Charles Wild both of Lubbock, daughters; Connie Sands of New Martinsville, WV, Marilyn Yoakum, Donna Bishop and Kristie Yorty all of Lubbock, and brother, Hillary Huser of Blanco, Texas; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
