Mrs. Lee Ann Willis Funeral at Home of Daughter Saturday
Lee Ann Willis, for many years a resident of the Alfalfa community died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Clayton Thursday morning, Dec. 29, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of her daughter, because of illness in the family. Rites were under direction of Bro. A.C. Richmond, member of the Church of Christ of Cordell, and Rev. Cooksey, Methodist minister of Alfalfa. Burial was in the Alfalfa cemetery. She had been a resident of the community since 1905.
Lee Ann Wilburn was born in Boone county, Ark., May 18, 1865, and was united in marriage to W.C. Willis March 17, 1887, at Rally Ridge, Ark. Her husband passed away April 20, 1939. Fate left them childless except for a daughter, Bessie Willis, who was adopted in infancy and is now Mrs. E.L. Clayton.
Survivors are Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Clayton and children, Hanford, who is on his way home from overseas, Gwendola and Irwin and two great grandchildren. Also two brothers, C.W. Wilburn of Eakly, and Charlie Wilburn of Everton, Ark., as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
