Mrs. Susie C. Meyer
Seneca-Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church here for Mrs. Susie C. Meyer, 84, Seneca. She died Sunday, Feb. 10, at a Seneca hospital where she was admitted Jan. 27.
She was born Feb. 18, 1900, east of St. Benedict in Nemaha County, the daughter of Henry and Anna Rethman Wichman, and attended St. Maary's School at St. Benedict. After her marriage she lived on a farm northwest of Kelly until 1941, when she moved to a farm south of Seneca. In 1964, she moved into Seneca.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Seneca and St. Ann's Altar Society at the church.
She was married to Frank J. Meyer June 6, 1922, at St. Benedict. He died Aug 18, 1981. A son Frank Meyer Jr. died Aug. 16, 1982.
Survivors include a son, Lester Meyer, Bonner Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Schmelzle and Mrs. Loyola Engelken, both of Seneca, Mrs. Irene Heinen, Axtell, and Mrs. Mary Engelken, Prairie Village; two brothers, Elbert Wichman, Richmond, and Henry Wichman Jr. Seneca; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Tangeman, Mrs. Nora Schurman and Mrs. Ann Louise Hulsing, all of Seneca; 35 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery at Seneca. Rosaries will be recited at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. today at Lauer Funeral Home, Seneca. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School at Seneca or to the Nemaha County Training Center in Seneca.
