Mrs. Leonard Whittier, a lady widely known, and dearly beloved, died at her home in Haverhill Mass., on Friday. Mrs. Whittier's death was very sudden. She fell dead while in a chamber of the house, and sometime afterwards her body was found on the floor. Her sets of charity were bestowed with a generous but modest liberality, and the sweet influence of her beautiful life was felt wherever she went, on errands of mercy, or in the closer circle of her home. She leaves three children - Miss Sarah Whittier, Mrs. A.S. Train and Mr. Edward Whittier.

Member of the Haverhill Whittier Club.
