Mary (West) Whitney, 94, of 20 Wellington St., formerly of Leominster, died Wednesday in The Medical Center of Central Massachusetts - Hahnemann after an illness.
She leaves two sons, Paul W. Whitney of Naples, Fla., and Carl S. Whitney of Marlboro; three daughters, Gladys Charron of South Pasadena, Fla., Irene Crofton of Conroe, Texas, and Claire Damery of Madeira Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was born in Chelsea, daughter of Leonard and Hilda (Larson) West. She lived in Leominster for many years before moving to Worcester 25 years ago.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Citadel Corp., 630 Main St., Worcester, 01608. Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, is directing arrangements.
