Marilyn L. (Marino) Whitney
Marilyn L. (Marino) Whitney, 64 years old, of 1403 South East Sreet, Amherst, formerly of Leominster, died Saturday, November 17 in the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Thomas D. Whitney; her son, Jon R. Whitney of Arlington; 3 brothers, Lawrence A. Marino of Ware, John W. Marino of Leominster, and Daniel E. Marino of Ashburnham; 3 sisters, Judith M. Innarelli of Port Charlotte, FL, Jane A. Trychon of Marlboro, and Barbara L. Foskin of Leominster; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Whitney was born in Leominster on March 6, 1943, daughter of Pasquale V. and Mildred L. (Maxim) Whitney and had lived in Amherst for the past 37 years. She graduated from Leominster High School, Fitchburg State College and received her master's degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Marilyn had been a Elementary School Teacher in the Ware Public Schools for many years before retiring in 2002. Previous she had taught in Leominster and in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and had volunteered at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst and with the Junior Achievement Program.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, at 12 p.m in the Congregational Church of Christ, 583 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 23 from 5-8 p.m in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
