Funeral services for Archie Whitney, 71, of Baskin were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Interment was in Reagan Cemetery, Baskin with the Rev. James Brown and the Rev. Roger Young officiating. Survivors include his wife, Gordie Bryan Whitney, Baskin; one brother, Edward Whitney, Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Alice McClelland, Winnsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Don Burns, Clyde Mullican, Clem Rawls, Terry Turbeville, Martin Valentine and Bubba Wallace. Published in The Franklin Sun October 24, 1979
