K. R. Whitney Railroader Dies
Kenneth Raymond Whitney, an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad in Reno for the last 18 year, died April 20 in the Southern Pacific Hospital in San Francisco, Calif. He was a resident of Nevada for 20 years.
Mr. Whitney was born in Williamsburg, Kan., the son of Harvey James and Ida Douglas Whitney. He was a member of the Las Animas Lodge No. 28, A.F. & A.M., Trinidad, Colo., and a charter member of the Unitarian Fellowship in Reno.
Mr. Whitney is survived by his widow, Darlene Whitney of 1060 Nevada St., Reno; a son, Scott C. Whitney of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Charles Whitney of Leavenworth, Kan.; a sister Mrs. Ida Cornwell of Trinidad, Colo.; and three grandchildren, Leslie Brooke, Susan and Scott Douglas Whitney.
