Mary Ann was born in Malone N.Y., to John and Sarah (Cashion) Roberts, lived in, or near Cornwall Canada,(just north of New York State line), at the time of her marriage to Harmon Wells Whitney; on 25 Oct 1842.
This union brought forth two daughters; named Sarah Jane Whitney born 31 Mar 1850, and died 28 Dec 1914 and Carrie Whitney.
After the marriage they moved to Ogdensburgh N.Y., next they moved to Pontiac, Michigan about 1850, where they lived for two years, after which moving to Flint, Michigan, and dwelling for eight years; moving themselves to Lansing, Michigan living there for about ten years, next they moved to Albion, Michigan in 1870.
