Barbara J. (Bundy) Whitney, 75, of Battle Creek, MI, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at her son's home in Battle Creek. She was born March 11, 1930 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Lyle "Bun" Bundy and Mary (Phillips) Bundy.
Barb had been an executive assistant for Clark Equipment Company here in Battle Creek for 38 years until she retired in 1989.
She married Parker Harmon Whitney on August 12, 1950 in Battle Creek.
She is survived by three sons: Fred R. & Julie Whitney of Hopkins, MI; John H. & Kristie Whitney of Land O Lakes, WI; and Mark A. & Dee Whitney of Battle Creek; four grandchildren: Shea-Tonya Whitney; Shawn Whitney, Kyle Whitney, and Sara Whitney; and by her brother: Patrick & Maxine Bundy of Lakeland, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Parker Whitney on November 5, 1996, and her brother Deo "Don" Bundy.
Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Gull Lake High School and was a lifelong area Battle Creek resident. She loved to travel and went on many trips with the Heartvlers Tour Bus line. She was an avid Detroit Tiger and Detroit Lions fan and loved to read. She had numerous flowers she planted yearly around her home and was a bird lover with numerous bird feeders. She was a member of the Clark Retirees Group, the National Wildlife Federation and the National Audubon Society.
Visitation will be held on Friday (December 30, 2005) an hour prior to the Memorial Service which is scheduled for 3:00pm in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor James L. Sparks of North Avenue Church of God officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
