Marian W. Brailsford, age 78, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, returned home to her Father in Heaven to be with her husband and son on Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at McKay Dee Hospital.

Marian was born April 17, 1921 in Layton, Utah, a daughter of Mark P. and Olive H. Whitesides.

She married Kenneth P. Brailsford on February 15, 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. Ken passed away on July 23, 1997.

Our dear mother was born and raised in Layton, Utah and graduated from Davis High School. She worked as a secretary at the Naval Supply Base, Davis County Sheriff's Office, and the Verdeland Park Housing Authority. After marrying our father, they worked together to successfully run the B & B Department Store of Layton for 38 years.

Marian has always been active in community and church organizations. With her husband they were very active in the JayCees. She loved music and participated in many choirs. She has served in the Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society, and Young Women's organizations. She was devoted to her family, with her grandchildren being her pride and joy.

Mom will always be remembered for her sense of humor, compassion and understanding, and her constant and ever listening ear.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kristine (Tom) Allen of Nashville, Tennessee, Kay Card and Mary (Kent) Streuling both of Layton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, John; her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 1999 in the Gailey Park First Ward Chapel, 331 South 50 West, Kaysville, with Bishop Michael Hadley conducting. Family and friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church.

Interment at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
