Lynda June Alvarez, 58, died in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Jan. 27, 2009.
A Service of Tribute and Love will be held at Eternal Hills Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ernie Mathis officiating. Cremation and inurnment will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens with her father. A reception will follow the chapel service. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. at Eternal Hills.
She was born in Roseburg, Ore., on Nov. 16, 1950, to Vivian June Hamblin and Derrill Emery White. She was the first of three children.
Since her father was in the military, they moved to Fort Ord, Calif.; Fort Hood, Texas; Italy; and Broken Bow, Okla. Her parents divorced, and in 1961, her father married Angelica Maria Sensel, and that was when Lynda's life took structure. Angie was a very good mom to her. In 1964, they retired from the Army and moved to Klamath Falls. Lynda attended Fremont and Mazama schools before graduating from Klamath Union High School in 1969.
In 1971, she married Donald Eugene Howe and they had one child, Angel Marie White, and this was the best thing that ever happened to her. During this time, she also graduated from a beauty college. He daughter married Carl Cornwall and they had two children, Dylan and Hayden. These two became the loves of her life.
She also worked as a manager for Circle K and for the last eight years at Red Lion Inn.
She enjoyed camping and fishing and played a little golf. In addition, she enjoyed bowling and playing bingo at the senior center. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family. She also loved Tweety Bird and had two cats named Sylvester and Tweety.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Angel and Carl Cornwall of Klamath Falls; stepmother Angelica White of Klamath Falls; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Pamela White of Klamath Falls; grandsons Dylan and Hayden Cornwall of Klamath Falls; nieces and nephew Christina Homer, Michelle and David White of Klamath Falls; special friends Karen, David, Dewey, Nanna and Banjo; she loved them a lot.
She was preceded in death by her father, Derrill "Sarge" White, and mother Vivian Hamblin.
