Thelma June Berry, 69, a resident of Goldendale, Wash., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012.
She was born July 24, 1942, in Flagstaff, Ariz., the second of three children to James C. and Thelma Verna Mae (Gore) White. She grew up in Flagstaff, graduating from Flagstaff High School in 1960.
She married John Ray Berry in October 1965 in Las Vegas, Nev. They settled in Goldendale in 1994. She worked with her husband John as a trim carpenter and was also a homemaker. She was a recent member of Grace Brethren Church in Goldendale and enjoyed helping with the Host Program in the Goldendale Elementary School.
She survived by her son, Kevin Randall Berry of Goldendale, step-daughter, Elizabeth Taylor of Salem, Ore.; granddaughters, Shayna Ann Brittany Berry, and Breanna G. Berry, Goldendale, Wash.; grandson, Alec Taylor, Salem, Ore.; and a brother, James C. White, Centralia, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents and a brother, Robert White whom she cared for, for 24 years.
Private cremation was at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be Thursday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at Wishram Community Church. The church is located at 315 Main St., Wishram, WA 98673.
