Sandy was born July 10, 1939, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of William and Genevieve (Conrath) White. In November 1959 she married Robert W. Carlson in Davenport. They divorced in July 1987.
She graduated from Davenport High School in 1957 and St. Ambrose University. She was employed as secretary to Justice Tom Lytton, Appellate Judge for the State of Illinois, since 1993. Prior to that, she worked at Lee Enterprises and St. Ambrose University. Sandy had also moonlighted for many years at the Runge Mortuary.
Sandy treasured her family and friends and was most happy when she was with her twin grandsons, Nick and Zach Carlson. She also loved reading, bridge and just spending time with people. She faced every challenge head-on with a positive attitude.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Kelly) Carlson and Kurt Carlson; twin grandsons, Nicholas and Zachary Carlson; one brother, Charles "Buck" (Jane) White; and two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jeff, a brother, William "Bill" White, and her parents.
