"DEATH OF MRS. CHARLES DURANG
On Monday evening last Mrs. Charles Durang, the widow of the author of the "History of the Philadelphia Stage," died at the residence of her son, Mr. E. F. Durang, In early life Mrs. Durang, as Miss White, went upon the stage and was very successful in high comedy parts. She as able to educate her brother, Judge White, of Indiana county, whose son, General Harry White, is a member of the present Congress. Her home was a resort of all that was cultured and polite. Of the children who survive her are Mrs. E. F. Durang, the well-known architect: John Durang, the captain of Company A, Second Regiment, and Oscar Durang, the editor of the military and firemen's column in the 'Sunday Mercury'.
