John White was a native of Kelso, Scotland. He married Jane Elder on June 8, 1816 in Erskine, Renfrewshire, Scotland. They had ten children, all born in Huntingdon. Children were: Jeanette, John, Anna, Andrew, George, Margaret, Thomas, Christine, David and James G. They lived at White's Station on Trout River.

04-29-1878 John White, died at the residence of his son-in-law, Samuel Brown of Hinchinbrook, Aged 84 years. Deceased was a native of Scotland and one of the first settlers on Trout River.
