-- ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary W. Stratford, 70, of Apt. 250 Keiger St. died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cross Road Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwayne Brown officiating and the Rev. Jessie Boulware assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Stratford was a daughter of the late William White Jr. and Lillie Bell Crain White. She was a homemaker, was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church, where she served as deaconess, worked with the children's church and the missionary department and was a member of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband, Lancey Stratford Jr. of the home; her son, John Robert Taylor of Rock Hill; three daughters, Lula M. Gill of Fort Lawn, Bertha Taylor of Lancaster and Johnny Young of Rock Hill; two brothers, Arthur White and Eddie White, both of Baskinville; two sisters, Beatrice House of Rock Hill and Thelma Hayes of Baskinville; 17 grandchildren; 32 grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Parker Funeral Home.
