And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
Sarah White Franklin was born to her very proud parents, Minnie Buggs Boulware and John Boulware on July 12, 1935 in Printer, West Virginia. She was the second child of five children, two of which preceded her in death. They were namely, Hillard and Johnny Boulware. She was also preceded in death by her oldest son, Joseph N. White, Jr.
The Boulware Family moved to Chester, PA in 1950. Sarah was educated in the public schools of Charleston, West Virginia and Chester, Pennsylvania.
Sarah and William Franklin met in Harrisburg, PA. They fell in love and married on July 24, 1983. They resided in the city of Chester, Toby Farms and Chester Township. They were a happy couple who loved to travel and entertain.
She accepted Jesus Christ early in her life and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Many years ago she moved her membership to St. Daniel's United Methodist Church Chester, PA. There she was a member of Class #7, United Methodist Women and the Adult Ushers. She would volunteer and was always willing to do whatever was asked of her.
During her lifetime, she was employed by Unisys Corporation, Chester-Upland School District as a teacher's aide and the Cerebral Palsy Association from which she retired.
Sarah was a Past Loyal Lady Ruler of Chester Assembly #30 Order of Golden Circle, Past Royal Perfect Matron of Zerubbabel Court #6; Ladies of the Circle of Perfection, member of Minaret Court #154, Daughters of Isis and member of Leah Chapter #27, Order of Eastern Star.
She was a very loving and friendly person. She loved her "Bill"!! She also held her family and friends in high regard. She has many nieces and nephews, but many others also referred to her as "Aunt Sarah". Nothing was too much to ask of her. She was recently quoted as saying, "It really grieves me when anything negative happens to anybody in my family."
Among the things she enjoyed doing the most was cooking for special occasions or impromptu. On these occasions, you could expect a bounteous spread. You would be treated to the most delicious meals with mouth watering desserts. Her punch bowl cakes, five flavored pound cakes, 7 Up cakes, sweet potato pies, puddings, etc., along with her meals truly expressed her culinary genius.
Another love of hers was bowling. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed it immensely. She traveled from coast to coast with Bill and her special friends, Betty Bean, Betty Sewell, Maggie Gardner, and Vera Toy. They rolled the ball in Oklahoma, Nevada, New York, Texas, California, etc., etc.
Sarah leaves to cherish a multitude of special memories: her loving husband, William (Bill) Franklin, Jr.; one daughter, Sharon White of Chester, PA; two sons, Christopher White (Sharon), Philadelphia, PA and William Franklin III, Chester, PA, daughter-in-law, Lynne D. White; 2 brothers, Luther Boulware (Yvonne), Boothwyn, PA and Townsend Boulware, Chester, PA; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
