Patricia A. (White) Cahill 79, died Saturday August 14 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to George W. Cahill. Born in St. Louis she was the daughter of the late Donald S. and Dorothy (Matthews) White. Patricia was a resident of East Bridgewater for over 60 years, and a graduate of East Bridgewater High Class of 1950. She then attended Bridgewater State College where in 1954 she earned her Bachelors Degree in education and met her husband George. She was a teacher in the Braintree School system for over 22 years and later substitute taught for 14 years at the Holy Family School of Rockland. She was a communicant of the Holy Ghost Church of Whitman where she was a Eucharistic Minister, and taught CCD for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother and her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her husband George she is survived by her loving children Donald Cahill and his wife Linda of Hanson, Christopher Cahill and his wife Mary of East Bridgewater, Annmargaret OToole and her husband Stephen of East Bridgewater and Melissa Morrissey and her husband Vincent of Braintree. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Her services will be held Friday August 20 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Thursday August 19 from 4-8 PM.
