A member of the abolitionist and activist White Family of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Julia Ellen White was the daughter of George B. and Emily F. White. She was the youngest of six children. She attended Wood Street Elementary school and graduated from The Institute for Colored Youth, now Cheyney University. Julia was the Secretary for Dr. Nathan Mosselle at the Douglass Hospital in Philadelphia, and was also a Charter Member of The Gloucester Memorial Society of First African Presbyterian Church, where all of her family were influential members. Julia was 97 years old at passing.
