READING - Services will be Tuesday at Assumption Catholic Church here for Mrs. Ellen "Nellie" Fagan, 50, Reading, who died Saturday in an Emporia hospital. She had cancer.She was born Jan.30, 1921 at Reading where she spent most of her life except for a few years in Topeka. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church at Reading.She was married to Bernard Fagan May 6, 1940 at Reading. He survives.Other survivors include a son, Jack Fagan, Topeka; 6 daughters, Mrs. Irene Davenport, Rte. 4, Osage City, Mrs. Marge Staab, Mrs. Elizabeth Conrad, Judy Fagan, Bernadine Fagan and Marian Fagan, all of Topeka; her mother, Mrs. Katherine Whitaker, Emporia; 2 brothers, Tom Whitaker, rural Reading, and Charles Whitaker, Emporia; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Sapp, Reading; and 10 grandchildren.Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Reading.Jones Funeral Home at Lebo is in charge of arrangements.
