Florence Adelle Douglas Whitaker (1866-1933) and Will Whitaker (1860-1893) had three children: Julius Vance Whitaker, Huldah D. Whitaker Herring (1887-1971), and William Ben Whitaker (1889-1962). Julius Vance Whitaker married Callie M. Bryant in 1909.

Bolton Farmer Dies After Heart Attack--Julius Vance Whitaker, lifetime resident of Shelby County, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday at his home in Bolton. He was 69. Services will be at 2:30 this afternoon at National Funeral Home with the Rev. Horace Sniper officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Mr. Whitaker was a farmer and was active in his work until he suffered a heart attack three weeks ago. He was a Presbyterian. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Callie M. Whitaker of Bolton, two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Pennel of Bolton and Mrs. Margaret Hudson of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. J.B. Herring Sr., and a brother W. B. Whitaker, both of Memphis.
