Dorothy Marie Banks, 86, of Tulsa, Ok. born October 2, 1923 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2010 at Southern Hills Nursing Center. She was born to Riley and Mary Elizabeth (Phillips) Whisenhunt in McCurtain Cty, Oklahoma.
She married Cleo Banks on September 20, 1947. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker to her husband and three children. She was passionate about her children and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, Riley and Mary Whisenhunt; two brothers, James and Roy Whisenhunt; and her son Jerry Banks.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law; daughter-in-law; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren as well as many other loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Westside Freewill Baptist Church, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. The casket will be open up until service time, it will not be open after the service concludes. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
