Viola Wheaton Amarel, 76, of Yuba City died July 27, 2004, at Kaiser Roseville Medical Center in Roseville. Born in Marysville, she was a lifelong Yuba-Sutter resident.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Rideout Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Her memberships also included Daughters of the Golden West, Parlor No. 226, Yuba City; Women of the Moose No. 1089, Yuba City; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Amarel of Yuba City; three sons, ...; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services: A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Sunday, preceded by visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City, with the Rev. Manuel Soria officiating. Burial will be Sutter Cemetery.
