She was born , in Lowell, the oldest daughter of Harley Wayne and Mary Shackelford Wharton. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1942. She attended Central Baptist College, Oklahoma Baptist College and the University of Arkansas. She was devoted to her family and delighted in news of their activities and accomplishments. Betty enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. She was a great cook and liked to sew. Betty was baptized at 15 years of age at the Lowell Baptist Church. During her life, she had been a member of Lowell Baptist, First Baptist Church in Springdale and Elmdale Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clyde H. Kendrick; two sons and two daughters (most of whom are Doctors) 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. One brother, two sisters.
She was 76 when she passed away at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, AR. I have a copy of her obit with her picture from The Morning News.
