Ruby Lavon Bentley, 85, Stanberry, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Stanberry.
She was born December 11, 1926, in Gentry County, Mo., the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Basha (Pierce) Wharton.
On August 23, 1944, she married Ellis Bentley. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1995.
Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ of Alanthus, Mo.
She also was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Deva Vaught; son, Kenny Bentley; four brothers, Ronald, Boyde, Truman and Rex Wharton.
Survivors include sons, Kevin (Terri) Bentley and Lyndon (Mardetta) Bentley, both of Stanberry; daughters, Caroline Sue, Kansas City, Mo. and Kelly (Dick) Degase, Maryville, Mo.; son-in-law, Mike Vaught, Savannah, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Linda Bentley, Stanberry; sister, Sharon Howell, St. Joseph; brother, Laton Wharton, St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry. Burial: in the Jennings Cemetery, Alanthus.
